Question: Can you control your Eevee's evolution (into Jolteon, Flareon or Vaporeon) by naming it differently?
Answer: YES. - FACT

Origin

When Pokémon Go was first released, trainers quickly jumped to conclusions about how to get Eevee's specific evolutions including its move sets, geographical catch location, weight and everything under the sun.

There is only one verified trick that works, which is naming your Eevee based on one of Eevee brothers from the Pokémon anime BEFORE evolving it:

• Vaporeon - Rainer
• Jolteon - Sparky
• Flareon - Pyro

Things to Watch Out For

1. Restart your game after naming your Pokémon. If the server does not register the name change, it may not work.
2. Do not spell the name incorrectly.
3. This only works once per name. If you try it on a second (ex: Two Eevees named Rainer), then the second will still have a normal 1/3 chance of evolving into your desired Pokémon
